Council Votes to Offer Interim Administrator Job to Robert Jean

On Friday, May 11, the San Juan County Council voted unanimously to offer the position of Interim County Administrator to Robert Jean of University Place, Washington. In his resume, Jean describes himself as fiscally conservative and “people and results oriented.”

He has more than 30 years experience as a City Administrator or City Manager in small and medium-sized towns in Washington, Oregon and California. He's done two turns in interim administrator positions – in 2010 in Gillette, Wyoming, and most recently in Lake Forest Park, Washington.

If contract negotiations with Jean are successful, he will serve while a replacement is sought for County Administrator Pete Rose, who has resigned effective June 8 to take the position of city administrator in Lake Forest Park.

Jean was one of three finalists for the interim administrator's position.
