Our solid waste management system seems complicated and expensive. Headlines, as well as county and citizens' meetings, are full of discussions about costs and reduction of services.

Our management plans, which guide policy and decisions, are outdated. Our Solid and Hazardous Waste management plans were adopted in 1996 and 1998.

The County has developed a draft of the revised plan, which is available here. You are encouraged to review the plan and offer comments as it goes through the adoption process during 2012.
