Financial Services & Budgets

The San Juan County Auditor's Office financial services division is divided into four areas:

Junior Taxing District Budgeting and Accounting: This group assists with budgeting and is responsible for the accounting, payroll and budget monitoring for all the junior taxing districts in the county.

Grant Accounting and Reporting: This person works with the county departments and pass-through agencies to ensure compliance with Federal and State guidelines, and prepares the annual Grant Reporting Summary, which is audited by the State.

Cash Disbursement and County Budget Guideline Compliance: This group audits the bills submitted by county departments for legal and budget compliance.

Budgeting and Financial Reporting: This group works with the County Administrator, Council, and department heads to compile the annual county budget. This group is also responsible for the external county financial reports and state audit, and works with the County Council and county departments on internal financial reporting.
