Swine Flu Cases Grow, but Remain “Fairly Mild”

As of the end of the day Thursday, May 21, Washington State had reported 516 confirmed cases of H1N1 (“Swine Flu”) infections,  but a Department of Health Situation report said the disease remains “fairly mild, but with a few deaths resulting, mostly involving individuals with underlying conditions”
 
The report says that the majority of the confirmed cases are among you people in the 5-18 year old range.
 
To date there have been no confirmed cases of Swine Flu involving San Juan County residents. The World Health Organization, which has confirmed 11,168 cases in 42 countries is not currently recommending travel restrictions.
