San Juan County is hiring a seasonal park aide to help keep San Juan County Park, our three other waterfront day parks, and community Land Bank properties beautiful and accessible. San Juan County Park is an archeological site with a rich history. Located on the west side of the island and looking out over Haro Strait, it is frequently passed by orcas and other marine mammals. Dozens of kayakers launch and camp here and people come from all over the world to stay at this amazing place.
The job involves working with three other staff committed to caring for this place, and any day you may find yourself using a lawn mower, a scrub brush, binoculars, a chain saw, or the ATV. You will also be helping visitors, directing boaters, and helping with bigger projects in the parks. This year we are taking a strong interest in the natural history of this place so visitors will want to take care of it too.
We are looking for someone with interest or experience in a broad range of physical and intellectual skills, who loves to be outdoors, and has great people skills.
The 30 hours /week position goes from May 19 to September 23 and pays $15.22 per hour. For more info and to apply for the job, follow http://sanjuanco.com/administration/employment.aspx. Thanks!
