Our Campsite Reservation system opens for
Spring & Summer beginning March 1

This page contains information about campsite maps and fees, off-season camping, making summer campsite reservations, resident reservations, group reservations groups and commercial operators, special events RV length limitations and pets in the parks.

San Juan, Odlin, and Shaw Island County Parks are designated campsites along the Cascadia Marine Trail for small, beachable human- or wind-powered boats. For more information on the Trail, visit the Washington Water Trails Association website.

Campsite fees and maps. Please refer to San Juan, Lopez or Shaw pages for campsite maps, fees and additional charges. Fees listed are for up to 4 people and 1 vehicle per campsite. Maximum of 8 people per campsite (six at Shaw Park), extra charges apply. Note: if the maps don't open for you, try downloading the current version of Adobe Reader (tm) Click here for more information.

Fees for extra people and vehicles Please ensure that you know what our fees are before you make your plans. You may want to leave that extra car behind or reserve a second campsite.

Off-season camping. During the off-season (October through April), the islands take on a slightly different personality. The pace of life slows just a bit, but the majestic natural beauty remains. And the weather can be dramatic and delightful! Community events and activities are scheduled year 'round. Come enjoy the San Juans like the locals do.

Campsites are on a strictly first-come, first-served basis from November 1 through March 31. Self-registration information is posted at each park. Enjoy more relaxed camping and reduced fees, too (services are also reduced).

Summer reservations. While reservations are not required for camping at any of the San Juan County Parks, they are strongly recommended during the summer, especially at San Juan County Park on San Juan Island. Any unreserved campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register promptly upon selecting your campsite.

San Juan County resident reservations. We are once again offering early advance reservations for people who reside in our county year 'round. Please call our main office at 378-8420 for information. Early resident reservations are accepted through February 24, 2012. Proof of County residency will be required.

Again in 2012, online camping reservations for individual campsites can be made a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 90 days in advance of arrival. Reservations are accepted from March 1 (9 a.m. PDT) through October 15.

Group Reservations. Groups of nine to 30 people will be accommodated in special Group Camp areas on a space available basis (Shaw County Park can only accommodate 15 people). In order to minimize adverse impacts, groups with more than 30 people (15 at Shaw) cannot be accommodated at any of the parks from Memorial Day weekend to mid-October. Groups must call 360-378-8420 to reserve space in advance, beginning on January 10. Arrangements must be completed at least 2 weeks prior to group stay; allow ample time.

Commercial/Group Operators. All commercial operators are required to obtain a permit from the Parks & Recreation Director to use any San Juan County park for a business-related purpose. For those who are in the business of providing services primarily to tourists and park visitors, please refer to our Commercial Use Permit Program. Permits are generally valid from the date of issue to the end of the calendar year. Park use without a valid permit is grounds for immediate denial of use privileges. Call the Park Administration office at 360-378-8420 for information. Arrangements must be finalized at least 2 weeks prior to group use; allow ample time.

Special Events. Includes non-recreation events such as (but not limited to) weddings, birthday parties and receptions. Please call our main office at 360-378-8420 to make arrangements.

CHECK-OUT TIME IS AT NOON.

Maximum RV length. San Juan County Park is 25 feet maximum; maximum RV length at Odlin County Park is 22 feet in sites 1-9 and 30' only in sites 6, 8, & 10. One (1) towing or towed vehicle allowed in campsite with trailer or RV at no additional charge. RV's and trailers are not advisable at Shaw County Park.
