I want you to be able to find what you need in these web pages to understand and use our current disposal system. I also want to provide guidance for the unprecedented changes that the County waste management system will be experiencing in the near future. TRANSITION 2012 provides key information and links to more details that are updated as we move into a revised system of handling garbage and recycling in San Juan County.

News and Important Information

Beginning September 1, 2012, recycling collection will be included in standard route collection service. Contact San Juan Sanitation, Inc. for details.

The County Council approved the Final Draft Solid Waste Management Plan on September 11, 2012, and the Department of Ecology approved it on October 5, 2012.
