Flu/COVID Vaccines

During the 2020 - 2021 season, San Juan County Health & Community Services is committed to supporting local healthcare providers and the community at large in order to ensure an especially effective and efficient vaccination effort.

In the time of COVID, being vaccinated for flu is especially critical. Depending on COVID case activity, access to advanced medical care or testing may be limited, and activities requiring travel or leaving the home may be undesirable or pose additional risk. Please protect yourself and your community by taking the time to ensure that you and your loved ones get their flu vaccine.

As always, San Juan County residents are urged to keep up to date with regularly scheduled vaccines. Especially parents and their children, and islanders who are particularly high risk. Please help us avoid yet another health crisis.

The information below is geared specifically towards this year's flu vaccine, and the eventual COVID vaccine effort and will be updated regularly.

  1. Flu Vaccine
  2. COVID Vaccine

For detailed information about the 2020-21 flu season and why the vaccine is so critical now, please visit this page for detailed info.

All San Juan County residents are strongly encouraged to obtain the flu vaccine in advance of the 2020-21 flu season (ideally before mid-December), especially those at highest risk. San Juan County medical providers have flu shots available and have set up additional appointment times for their patients to receive flu shots. In addition, some local pharmacies are offering flu shots.

Please contact your primary health care provider or pharmacy directly for more information and to schedule an appointment for your flu shot.

In addition, San Juan County Health and Community Services is partnering with local providers and pharmacies to offer scheduled drive-thru community flu vaccine events. These events will supplement the regularly offered efforts of local providers. Dates and times are provided below, please contact your usual health care provider (details below) to preregister for one of these events. Note that these offerings may expand or adjust going forward.
