Building Permit Applications

The "Combined Forms" packets are comprehensive and may include forms that will not be needed. For example, if there is no structure on the property that you wish to remove, you will not need to submit a Demolition Application. However, the Addressing Verification Form for E-911 purposes and the Right of Way Review Form for Public Works to verify sight distances are ALWAYS REQUIRED. 

Additionally, note that septic and water applications must be submitted directly to the Health Department, with the appropriate fee, at PO Box 607, Friday Harbor, WA 98250 AND a receipt of submission included with your building application. If you have questions regarding this, contact the Health Department at 360-378-4474.


Plan review time is about 15-20 weeks. Furlough days for employees have affected turn around times for plan review, please be patient. Thank you for understanding.


Combined Forms (several updated application packets will be updated shortly with new Building Codes. **Energy code form has been separated from the application. You may still be required to download and fill it out when submitting an application.**
