The annual hazardous waste roundup begins this year on Decatur Island May 22nd, followed by San Juan Island on June 11th (businesses) and June 12th (households). Orcas Island beings on June 19th, and Lopez Island June 26th. Other outer islands will have collections later this year, or in 2022.
Go ahead and bring your hazardous materials to your island waste station - times and materials can be found at the link below. New this year is the PaintCare WA program, which allows for all latex (water-based) paints to be collected for reuse or recycling.
