The Coast Salish people were the first to live and fish on the shores of Orcas Island and their stories tell us their ancestors survived The Great Flood by tying their canoes to a grand Madrona Tree. The mural depicts that tree on the top of Mount Constitution, the highest point on Orcas Island.
